CentOS事件峰回路轉(zhuǎn) 折射開源項(xiàng)目弊端

CentOS 是一個建立在紅帽Linux基礎(chǔ)上的免費(fèi)提供源代碼的 Linux 發(fā)行版，在社區(qū)版的系統(tǒng)中，用在服務(wù)器上，除了Debian，用得最多的就是CentOS。日前有消息傳出該項(xiàng)目出現(xiàn)重大問題即該項(xiàng)目的主要管理者，Lance Davis目前失蹤了且沒有將日常管理控制者交給他人。這是怎樣的一個問題，因?yàn)長ance Davis還仍然保持CentOS域名唯一控制權(quán)，該項(xiàng)目的IRC通道的唯一的“創(chuàng)立者”，并唯一獲得該項(xiàng)目的PayPal和谷歌的AdSense帳戶。

在CentOS核心開發(fā)小組發(fā)布公開信后，他們威脅如果得不到Lance Davis回應(yīng)，將開發(fā)開源操作系統(tǒng)(CentOS)分支。二天后，Lance Davis已經(jīng)回應(yīng)了他們的要求，他似乎已經(jīng)平息他們的投訴。

在CentOS開發(fā)團(tuán)隊(duì)例行會議上，Lance Davis列席會議(要查看內(nèi)容到項(xiàng)目網(wǎng)站)。在會議上的大多數(shù)問題得到了解決，一些尚未解決的問題都達(dá)成協(xié)議，并制定了最后期限。這些對CentOS用戶來說沒有任何影響。

在周四的公開信中，開發(fā)者抱怨Lance Davis將整個項(xiàng)目置于風(fēng)險中，沒有將日常管理控制者交給他人�！澳闼坪跻呀�(jīng)爬進(jìn)了一個洞… ，這是不能接受的” ，在信中提及，” 請不要破壞我們共同管理的CentOS項(xiàng)目。 ”

Davis現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)放棄了一些控制，但目前還不清楚他是否仍然參與這個項(xiàng)目。 CentOS項(xiàng)目計(jì)劃在CentOS發(fā)布中控制CentOS.org和CentOS.info域名以及商標(biāo)，藝術(shù)作品的所有權(quán)，他們期待著與Lance迅速完成所有問題的商定。

此次鬧劇折射出開源項(xiàng)目的弊端，管理層只有一個人，風(fēng)險太大。另外開源項(xiàng)目總有一個亟待解決和困擾項(xiàng)目領(lǐng)頭人的問題，那就是資金。之所以中國沒有好的開源項(xiàng)目，也是如此。現(xiàn)在Lance Davis不知道是不是也是這些困擾著他呢，郵件中的意思其實(shí)并沒有太復(fù)雜，只是大家覺得他一個人“獨(dú)裁”式的管理方法是欠缺靈活性的，更多的成功項(xiàng)目都是Team work。
